The Grandfather Clock
These a photos of a clock that I started to build a year ago. It was a joint venture with my neighbour. It was to be a gift to Linda for our 25th wedding anniversary, however as you can see it is not complete and our 25th anniversary is complete.
Oh well, the construction is now complete and it just needs staining and varnishing. It is made from solid black cherrywood, we had some ups and downs but it has turned out, I think, simply fantastic. Now I will be honest, Manny, my neighbour is a carpenter and he did most of the work, but a supervisor is always needed, right. As he is selling his house we brought it here for completion.
At this rate it should be finished by the end of summer.

The base of the clock, The grain is homemade veneer, we took a board and sliced it in the middle and then flipped the over

The pinnacle is the only piece that we bought

The back (not shown), is also black cherrywood, It stands 7 feet tall. All the molding was done on a router, the most expensive part (aside from the german movement) was the router bits.
